IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir emphasized that the mission to dismantle Hamas applies not only to Gaza but to every front—especially in Judea and Samaria (Yehuda and Shomron), where terror networks continue to threaten Israeli lives.
Yesterday, Zamir conducted an operational assessment in the Judea and Samaria Division alongside Central Command Chief Maj. Gen. Avi Blot, Division Commander Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, and other senior officers. The high-level briefing comes amid heightened counterterrorism activity in the region, with dozens of Hamas-affiliated terrorists recently arrested and weapons caches seized by Israeli forces.
“In Gaza, we launched a powerful and unexpected strike—every operation is aimed at returning our hostages, which remains a top priority,” said Zamir. “But the defeat of Hamas is not limited to Gaza. It must happen everywhere—including here in Judea and Samaria.”
His comments underscore the growing concern that Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other Iran-backed factions are working to ignite a third intifada from within Judea and Samaria, using local operatives and incitement networks to destabilize the region.
The Chief of Staff praised the ongoing efforts of IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police units who are conducting near-daily raids to prevent terrorist attacks, dismantle sleeper cells, and protect Israeli civilians. “Continue with relentless operations to foil terror and maintain strong defense,” he instructed.
Zamir’s visit signals the IDF’s broader doctrine: defeating Hamas is a national mission that transcends borders. Whether in Rafah, Jenin, or Shechem, the goal is the same—crush terror at its roots and ensure Israel’s enemies can never again strike from the shadows.
As Iran’s axis of terror stretches from Gaza to Lebanon, Syria, and beyond, the IDF is making it clear: there are no safe havens for Hamas—not above ground, not in tunnels, and not in Judea and Samaria.
