A deadly terror attack struck northern Israel this morning when a Palestinian terrorist rammed his vehicle into a group of civilians waiting at a bus stop near Tishbi Junction, in the Jezreel Valley region near Yokneam. He then opened fire on the victims, murdering a 75-year-old man and seriously wounding a 20-year-old Israeli youth.
According to eyewitnesses, the terrorist intentionally drove at high speed toward the bus stop, struck multiple individuals, and then exited the vehicle to fire at point-blank range. Security forces at the scene, reportedly Border Police, reacted immediately and neutralized the terrorist on the spot, preventing further bloodshed.
“This could have ended far worse. The quick response by Border Police saved lives,” said a senior security source.
Emergency responders from Magen David Adom (MDA) were quickly on scene. MDA paramedic Moshiko Amsalem described the situation as a “severe terror event.”
“We arrived and found two victims—one, a man around 75, critically wounded with penetrating injuries. The other, about 20 years old, was seriously wounded,” Amsalem said. “We began life-saving treatment, including stopping bleeding and administering bandages.”
Despite their efforts, the older victim succumbed to his wounds at the scene. The younger victim remains hospitalized in unstable condition.
Iran-Inspired Lone-Wolf Terror
This morning’s terror attack adds to a disturbing pattern of lone-wolf and small-cell terror incidents driven by online incitement and directives from Iran-backed groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. These groups continue to use social media and religious rhetoric to inflame Palestinians in Judea, Samaria, and Israel proper, encouraging them to carry out attacks wherever possible.
The fact that this attack occurred far from active combat zones—just southeast of Haifa—underscores the national scope of the threat Israel faces.
This brutal act once again highlights the cowardice of terrorists who target the elderly and youth, and the heroism of Israeli security forces who stopped the attacker before more lives were lost.
Israel will continue to act—on every front, in every city, against every threat. The message is clear: Israeli civilians will not be easy targets, and terrorism will be met with overwhelming force and resolve.
