Yesterday, March 31, 2025, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, the 24th Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, conducted a high-level field visit to the Yehuda Brigade. Lt. Gen. Zamir, who assumed command on March 5, 2025, was joined by Central Command Chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, Judea and Samaria Division Commander Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, Yehuda Brigade Commander Col. “S,” and additional senior officers.

The visit followed an IDF operation in the village of Jinba, located in the southern Hebron Hills—a known hub for terrorist activity. During the meeting, commanders presented a detailed operational debrief to the Chief of Staff. The IDF’s mission in Judea is not merely defensive—it is essential to preempting terror and safeguarding Israeli lives across the country.

Lt. Gen. Zamir emphasized the critical importance of maintaining operational discipline and ethical conduct across all theaters. “Operational success is inseparable from adherence to IDF values,” he declared. “I will not accept situations in which our soldiers misuse force or stray from our moral code.”

Quoting the late Col. Dror Weinberg, a heroic commander murdered in a 2002 terror attack near Hebron, Zamir reminded his commanders:

“Military action is judged by its results. A commander or unit is measured by their ability to achieve outcomes in a way that passes the moral and ethical test. If the method fails that test, the result loses its value.”

Zamir praised the Yehuda Brigade’s tireless efforts:

“Your operations here directly prevent terrorist attacks in Israel’s heartland. This is demanding, complex, and high-stakes work—and I deeply appreciate your dedication.”

He acknowledged the severity of the incident under review, describing it as a serious event inconsistent with the IDF’s ethical standards. He reiterated the need for precision, command presence, and accountability, particularly in civilian environments.

As Israel continues to battle Iran’s axis of terror—including Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Houthis in Yemen—the IDF’s moral compass remains a defining strength. The Yehuda Brigade’s vigilance in Judea is a cornerstone of national security.

In this war for survival, Lt. Gen. Zamir made one thing clear: the IDF fights to win, but never at the cost of its soul.
