The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with Shin Bet and Border Police units, reported a significant 80% decrease in major terror attacks during the month of Ramadan this year, compared to the same period last year. The data, released by Central Command, highlights the success of an intensive counterterrorism campaign conducted throughout Judea and Samaria.

According to the report, Israeli forces:

  • Arrested 401 terror suspects
  • Eliminated 13 terrorists
  • Seized 105 illegal weapons

These operations were carried out across all sectors of the Central Command, with a heavy focus on the northern Samaria region, where ongoing counterterrorism operations have disrupted militant infrastructure and foiled dozens of planned attacks.

Sharp Decline in Attacks

In Ramadan 2024, Israel suffered 27 major terror attacks originating from Judea and Samaria—22 in Samaria and 5 in Judea. This year, the number dropped dramatically to just three.

Officials attribute this drop to aggressive preemptive actions taken throughout the region in recent weeks, targeting known terror hubs and arresting wanted operatives before they could act.

Strategic Results, Continued Vigilance

The decline in attacks during one of the most sensitive periods on the calendar is seen as a major success for Israeli security forces, especially given the increased incitement from Hamas and other groups urging violence during Ramadan.

The ongoing operations in northern Samaria, which has been a hotspot for Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad activity, are set to continue. Israeli forces remain on high alert, with intelligence units closely monitoring efforts by terrorist factions to regroup.

The sharp decline in violence this Ramadan is a direct result of Israel’s uncompromising stance on terror prevention in Judea and Samaria. By arresting hundreds of suspects and eliminating key operatives, Israeli forces have disrupted enemy momentum and delivered a clear message: terror will not be tolerated—especially not during sacred times meant for peace.

Israel remains committed to safeguarding its citizens, and it will continue to act decisively wherever threats emerge.
