The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a precision airstrike on a Hamas rocket launcher located in the Al-Furqan area of northern Gaza. The strike came hours after two projectiles were launched toward Israeli territory from the same site earlier in the day.
According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the launcher was deliberately placed adjacent to a humanitarian shelter, another blatant example of Hamas’ criminal strategy of embedding terror infrastructure within civilian zones.
Before the strike, the IDF took extensive precautions to minimize harm to civilians, including detailed aerial surveillance, verified intelligence, and the use of precision-guided munitions. No civilian casualties were reported, confirming the effectiveness of the IDF’s surgical targeting approach.
“This is yet another case of Hamas cynically and systematically exploiting civilians and humanitarian infrastructure to shield its terror activity,” the IDF stated.
The terror organization’s decision to fire rockets from near a shelter is part of a well-documented pattern: using hospitals, schools, mosques, and UN facilities as launch sites or hideouts—thus endangering Gazan civilians in order to provoke international outrage against Israel.
Israel continues to uphold its commitment to protecting its citizens while adhering to international law, even when facing an enemy that violates every moral and legal boundary. The IDF emphasized that any location used for launching attacks against Israel—regardless of its surroundings—will be considered a legitimate military target, with every effort made to safeguard innocent lives.
As Hamas continues to target Israeli civilians while hiding behind its own, the world must finally recognize who is responsible for the suffering in Gaza: the terror group that turns shelters into launch pads and human lives into shields.
