As part of Operation Might and Sword, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Shin Bet and under the leadership of the Southern Command, have intensified their military campaign against Hamas, targeting its infrastructure across the Gaza Strip. The operation, launched last week, began with a massive wave of precision airstrikes aimed at dismantling the terror group’s command structure and operational capabilities.
Since its initiation, the Israeli Air Force has struck more than 430 Hamas targets, including rocket launchers, tunnel shafts, weapons depots, and command centers used to orchestrate attacks against Israeli civilians.
“Once movement begins, targets are authorized for engagement,” stated a senior IDF official, reflecting the agility and accuracy of Israel’s intelligence-driven strike capacity.
Striking Iran’s Axis Beyond Gaza
Recognizing the broader threat posed by Iran’s regional terror proxies, the IDF has expanded Operation Might and Sword beyond Gaza:
- In Syria, Israeli fighter jets carried out successful precision strikes on T4 and Palmyra airbases, key Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) hubs used to transfer weapons and coordinate attacks on Israel.
- In Lebanon, following rocket fire into northern Israel, the IDF struck over 40 Hezbollah targets in both southern and central regions, including infrastructure used for launching attacks and concealing long-range weapons.
Air Defense Triumphs: Intercepting Threats on All Fronts
Israel’s air defense systems continue to perform at the highest level. Over the past week, air defense units intercepted 14 hostile projectiles, including:
- 6 ballistic missiles from Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia
- 3 rockets from Lebanon
- 5 rockets from within Gaza
These interceptions prevented mass casualties, protected urban centers, and reinforced Israel’s strategic resilience.
From Precision to Power: Israel’s War Doctrine in Action
Operation Might and Sword represents a strategic shift from defensive containment to proactive neutralization of enemy capabilities. The IDF’s focus is not only on Hamas in Gaza but also on Iran’s entire axis of terror, which stretches from Beirut to Baghdad and Sanaa.
“We are degrading Hamas’ ability to function as a military organization and sending a message to its backers across the region: there is no sanctuary,” said an Israeli military spokesperson.
The campaign continues with full momentum as Israel seeks to eliminate the terror infrastructure that enabled the October 7 massacre, liberate hostages, and prevent future attacks on its civilians.
