The IDF’s elite Mountain Brigade (810), operating under Division 210, conducted a sweeping raid into previously untouched Syrian military outposts nestled in the Mount Hermon crown—an area long used by Iran-backed forces to threaten Israel’s northern front.
The operation, executed over the past week, targeted entrenched positions of the crumbling Syrian Army, uncovering and seizing significant enemy assets, including military equipment and a powerful explosive device weighing dozens of kilograms.
The mission was spearheaded by the IDF’s elite Alpine Unit in coordination with combat engineers from the Yahalom Unit, Israel’s premier counter-tunnel and explosive ordnance force. Together, they neutralized hostile infrastructure embedded in the Hermon terrain—sending a clear message: the IDF will not tolerate any military presence that threatens Israel’s sovereignty or the safety of its citizens in the Golan Heights.

This mission is part of a larger Israeli campaign to dismantle the last remnants of Iranian and Syrian military threats following the historic collapse of the Assad regime in December 2024. With Iran’s terror axis weakened and Hezbollah reeling from sustained IDF strikes, the Hermon operation reflects Israel’s unwavering commitment to securing its northern border and eliminating threats before they materialize.

The IDF confirmed that operations will continue in the Mount Hermon region as long as terror infrastructure exists there. As Israel fortifies its defensive posture on all fronts—from Gaza to Lebanon, from Syria to Yemen—this successful mission highlights the precision, strength, and moral clarity of the IDF’s fight to protect the Jewish state from Iranian aggression and regional terror proxies.
