As part of ongoing defensive operations in Syria, the IDF’s Paratroopers Brigade, under the command of Division 210, executed a successful raid this week on a former Syrian regime outpost, eliminating potential threats to Israel—particularly residents of the Golan Heights.
During the operation, Israeli forces uncovered a hidden military compound previously used by units loyal to the now-collapsed Assad regime. Inside, the soldiers discovered decommissioned tanks, armored personnel carriers, and artillery pieces once operated by Syria’s military.
The Paratroopers promptly neutralized the armored vehicles, ensuring they could no longer pose any threat, while also confiscating a large cache of weapons, including mortars and dozens of rockets.
This operation is part of Israel’s broader strategic effort to stabilize the Syrian border and prevent any resurgence of hostile forces—including Iranian-backed militias and remnants of the old regime—that could threaten Israeli sovereignty.
Since the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in late 2024, a historic result of Israel’s decisive regional campaign—Iranian influence in Syria has waned, but the security vacuum has left behind abandoned weapons stockpiles and rogue factions still attempting to rearm.
By proactively raiding and dismantling such threats, the IDF continues to demonstrate that Israel will not tolerate any build-up of terror infrastructure near its borders, regardless of who once controlled it.
The message from the field remains clear: Israel is in full control of its security environment—and it will act swiftly to eliminate any risk, wherever it lies.
