Iran-Backed Houthi Terrorists Launch Ballistic Missile at Israel; IDF Intercepts Successfully

For the second time in two days, Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen launched a ballistic missile toward Israel, triggering widespread Red Alert sirens across central and southern regions of the country at 19:59 local time.

According to the IDF, the missile was successfully intercepted before entering Israeli airspace, demonstrating the continued effectiveness of Israel’s multi-layered missile defense systems. No casualties or damage were reported.

“The alert system functioned according to policy, and the threat was neutralized outside of Israeli territory,” the IDF confirmed.

Millions Affected as Sirens Sound Across Israel

The scope of the alert was staggering, with sirens sounding in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzliya, Petah Tikva, Givatayim, Holon, Yehud, Ashdod, and dozens more cities across the Dan, Sharon, Jerusalem, Judea, and Shfela regions. Residents were forced to seek shelter with only seconds to react, as warning times ranged from 45 seconds to 90 seconds depending on the area.

These mass alerts reflect a targeting attempt against densely populated civilian areas, a blatant war crime carried out by a terror group that is fully armed, trained, and commanded by the Iranian regime.

Houthi Terror Part of Iran’s Proxy War Against Israel

This latest attack follows a pattern of long-range ballistic launches from Yemen, coordinated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as part of Iran’s broader regional campaign to weaken Israel by surrounding it with active fronts—Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.

The Houthis have publicly declared their alignment with Hamas and Hezbollah and have launched multiple long-range missiles toward Israeli territory since October 2023, attempting to reach Tel Aviv and other strategic areas.

Israeli defense officials continue to emphasize that every interception is a victory for civilian safety and technological superiority. While the world debates ceasefires and appeasement, Israel’s enemies are launching missiles at kindergartens and hospitals.

Israel remains committed to defending its population against all threats, and to holding Iran and its proxies accountable for every act of terror.
