Iran’s terror proxy in Yemen—the Houthis—launched two long-range ballistic missiles toward Israel, triggering widespread Red Alert sirens across the country. The Israeli Air Force confirmed that both missiles were intercepted before entering Israeli airspace, with no casualties or damage reported.
The missiles were part of a coordinated threat targeting central and southern Israel, with alerts sounding in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Judea, Samaria, the Shfela region, and parts of the Negev and Golan. Millions of Israelis were forced to take cover during the midday barrage.
“The missile threat originated from Yemen. Two missiles were intercepted in line with IDF protocol before they reached Israeli territory,” the military spokesperson confirmed.
A Regional War Directed by Tehran
This latest attack is part of a broader and escalating campaign by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which coordinates multi-front assaults on Israel through proxies in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. The Houthis, armed and directed by Iran, have already launched dozens of missiles and drones at Israeli territory since the October 7 war began.
Their targets are not military bases—they aim to strike densely populated cities, hospitals, and strategic infrastructure in a deliberate effort to inflict mass civilian casualties.
“This was a clear attempt to paralyze the Israeli heartland and terrorize millions,” said an Israeli security official. “It’s Iran pulling the strings.”
Missile Defense Success
The swift interception of both missiles highlights the continued strength of Israel’s multi-layered air defense system, which includes Arrow, David’s Sling, Iron Dome, and Patriot batteries. Though the IDF has not specified which system was used in today’s interception, such threats from Yemen are typically engaged at long range by Arrow 3, Israel’s exo-atmospheric missile interceptor.
The sirens were triggered “according to protocol” as a precaution, especially in high-value regions like Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Judea, which are often targeted by Iran’s long-range terror network.

Despite the successful interception, the international silence on Iran’s role in orchestrating these attacks remains deafening. As global organizations and Western media obsess over Israel’s defensive actions in Gaza, they ignore repeated, long-range missile attacks against Israeli civilians launched by a state-sponsored terror regime thousands of kilometers away.
