Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarie announced that the Iran-backed Ansar Allah terrorist organization launched a series of attacks targeting the U.S. Navy’s USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier over the past 24 hours. According to Sarie, the Houthis carried out three separate operations, using cruise missiles and drones in an unprecedented strike attempt in the Red Sea.

While the U.S. Department of Defense has yet to confirm damage to the carrier.

Iran’s Proxy Network Expands Its War

The Houthis have become one of Iran’s most aggressive terror proxies, alongside Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, and Shiite militias in Syria and Iraq. Since October 2023, they’ve been an integral part of Iran’s multi-front war against Israel, launching ballistic missiles and drones toward Israeli cities, disrupting global trade routes in the Red Sea, and now—challenging American naval power directly.

The attempted strike on the USS Harry S. Truman, a symbol of U.S. power projection in the Middle East, marks the boldest move yet by the Houthis in their Iran-guided campaign to destabilize the region. This comes amid broader Houthi attacks on commercial shipping, which have forced global cargo vessels to reroute around the Cape of Good Hope, crippling traffic through the Suez Canal and raising global shipping costs.

Why Now?

The timing of this attack is no coincidence. Iran is losing ground. Israel’s military campaigns—from Gaza to Syria to deep inside Iran itself—have crippled Tehran’s terror infrastructure. Hezbollah has suffered heavy losses. The Assad regime in Syria, once a key Iranian satellite, has collapsed. The Houthis are now Iran’s last operational proxy, and Tehran is desperate to provoke a larger regional confrontation that could distract from its humiliating defeats.

Targeting an American aircraft carrier is a desperate bid to draw the U.S. deeper into the conflict and shift focus away from Israel’s growing military successes—such as Operation Might and Sword, which decimated Hamas leadership just weeks ago.

The Bigger Picture

This attack highlights the true scope of the war Israel is fighting. It is not a “Gaza conflict”—it is a region-wide war for survival, forced upon Israel by Iran and its proxies. From the northern border with Hezbollah, to the southern Red Sea front with the Houthis, Israel is confronting the axis of terror alone.

The world must now choose: will it continue condemning Israel for defending itself, or will it finally confront the reality that Iran is waging war on the free world?

If the attack on the USS Harry S. Truman proves anything, it is this: No one is safe while Iran’s terror empire stands.
