Since the beginning of 2025, American airstrikes have eliminated at least 200 members of the Iran-backed Houthi terror group in Yemen, including several high-ranking commanders. Most of the fatalities occurred in March, marking a significant escalation in U.S. military action aimed at dismantling the Houthis’ operational capabilities.

The intensified campaign comes in response to the Houthis’ continued ballistic missile and drone attacks on Israeli civilians and commercial shipping routes in the Red Sea. The Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, are a critical component of Iran’s regional terror network, alongside Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iraqi militias.

Although the scale of the airstrikes has reportedly caused severe disruption to Houthi command structures, public documentation of the strikes has remained limited. This scarcity is largely due to strict censorship imposed by the Houthis themselves. Local residents have been warned not to photograph or publish images of the bombings, with harsh penalties threatened against those who violate the order.

Security experts note that this media blackout is a deliberate tactic by the Houthis to conceal the scale of their losses and maintain the illusion of strength amid growing battlefield setbacks.

The Trump administration, since returning to office in January 2025, has prioritized the dismantling of Iran’s terror proxies. U.S. Central Command has confirmed dozens of precision airstrikes on Houthi launch sites, command centers, and weapons depots across northern Yemen. These operations are part of a broader effort to secure maritime trade routes and prevent further attacks on Israel by Iran’s remaining operational proxy.

According to the IDF and regional analysts, the Houthis have launched a total of 23 ballistic missiles toward Israeli cities since the October 7, 2023, massacre—three in 2023, twelve in 2024, and eight so far in 2025. Each missile targets civilian areas and is part of Iran’s wider strategy to surround and weaken Israel on multiple fronts.

The death toll among the Houthis—especially in March—signals a critical blow to the Iranian regime’s regional ambitions. While documentation remains scarce due to internal censorship, the strategic impact of the U.S. and allied strikes is unmistakable. As Israel continues to confront terror across seven active fronts, the dismantling of the Houthi threat in Yemen marks another milestone in the regional war against Iran’s axis of terror.
